Framing someone for a crime

If you have been watching the soap Eastenders, you would know that the security tape showing Patrick's attack in the Minute Mart has been found, and it appears that Sean was "stitched up" by Chelsea and Deano.

Is there ever a case to do that to someone?

Doesn't the truth always come out?
